NRA Basic Pistol
This eight-hour course consists primarily of classroom instruction with some range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. This course is highly recommended for beginning shooters. Total cost for the course is $75.00. Click here to register.
In this class you will learn:
- The NRA Rules For Safe Gun Handling
- Pistol Parts & Operation
- Ammunition
- Cleaning & Maintaining Your Pistol
- Loading & Unloading Single & Double Action Revolvers & Semiautomatic Pistols
- Range Rules
- Shooting From A Bench Rest
- Shooting Two-Handed Standing
Students will be required to bring the following to class:
- Cased, UNLOADED single or double action revolver or a semiautomatic pistol
- 50 (fifty) rounds of ammunition for the handgun that will be used in class
- Hearing protection, either earplugs or earmuff style
- Ballistic eyewear (Inexpensive and can be found at sporting goods counters)
- Baseball cap or hat
- Sunscreen
- Water
- Appropriate clothing for the weather. (Range is outdoors, and we shoot regardless of weather, safety permitting.)
The classroom and range are not within reasonable driving distance of restaurants. Bring a lunch.
